The Night Doula Certificate is the professional credential for newborn care practitioners in the United States. Issued by Let Mommy Sleep and developed by Registered Nurses, IBCLC's and subject matter experts with over a decade of clinical and in-home newborn care experience, this course establishes a verified educational standard in a field that has none.
Completion of this certificate is required for all caregivers in the Let Mommy Sleep network and demonstrates to families and employers that you have met a documented, evidence-based standard for newborn and postpartum care.
The curriculum covers the full scope of professional newborn care practice:
- Newborn assessment: appearance, breathing, cord and circumcision care
- Infant skin conditions and common newborn health concerns
- Safe sleep, SIDS prevention and nursery safety
- Feeding support: breastfeeding, bottle feeding, formula preparation, reflux and tongue tie
- Swaddling, soothing and fussy baby management
- Mother care and postpartum recovery
- Family and partner wellbeing after birth
- Home and nursery organization
